Two faces of Ghaddafi

Ghaddafi playing out his Pan Arab sentiments in his push for African Unity, or he is merely using this platform to gain relevance both in Africa and in the West? There are two faces of Ghaddafi that does appear somewhat discordant. The other face is his very strong Arab sentiments and another is the sudden shift from that face. Maybe there is something hidden that is yet to be uncovered in all his moves.
